So I had the AMAZING opportunity to do a destination wedding for a dear friend, alongside a dear friend named Buffy, in Grand Bahia Principe Akumal, Mexico. (Buffy’s post about this wedding is here: Note we chose some of the same as our favorites!) I won’t take the time here to tell you about my unexpected collectivo ride to the resort and how I had to convince the guards to let me in. Nor will I bore you with the history of mine and Erin’s relationship, though it is related to roller derby and you certainly wouldn’t be bored.
This is more about Erin and Matt, their adorable smiles and their incredible boost to mankind. Seriously, they’re awesome people. And truthfully, Erin was an awesome person even before she donated that kidney. The donation simply upped her status. It made me realize I should at least put my bag on the floor, and not the seat beside me, during public transit.
This obviously pales in comparison. It’s not even a comparison.
But if someone can donate a kidney, the least we can all do is be a little nicer to strangers.
You will continue to have an amazing life together, Erin and Matt. Thank you for bringing me a long for part of the ride!
