When Julia and Guneet emailed me to ask if I would be their wedding photographer, they included a photo of themselves being attacked by a dinosaur. Our first meeting confirmed a mutual love of furry beasts. Their little muppet’s name is Chinook.
Obviously, this was a perfect match. I knew they’d be fun, and they knew they could trust me to capture both the beautiful and hilarious moments of their second wedding. Their first ceremony was a traditional Indian affair in Toronto where they live, and their Nelson wedding involved the legal ceremony and plastic sunglasses.
Their Kootenay wedding was tender and sweet, starting with a first look in Nelson before we gathered at her parents’ house on the shore of Kootenay Lake, a house which I can actually see from my house in Nelson. As I wound down after the party, sitting on my porch, I think I could still hear the Bollywood music rocking across the water.
