Kayla and Kevin are getting married in the Okanagan next summer. Although I live in Nelson BC, I often travel for Kelowna wedding photography. I travel pretty much anywhere for wedding photography. It’s inspiring to be in new environments, and really enhances my creative process. It’s also a great opportunity to go somewhere you might not have time or access to on your wedding day.
I offer engagement sessions with all my wedding packages because they’re an invaluable opportunity to get to know one another. If I will be traveling to an Okanagan wedding, we usually plan to meet in the middle or when I’m doing an earlier trip westward for another Kelowna wedding.
For example, with Kayla and Kevin’s engagement session, I had a trip planned near the Okanagan. En route home from that camping trip, we planned to meet in a field near where I would be driving, and near to where they also happened to be at the time.
And so I got to spend a pretty summer evening with Kayla and Kevin, traipsing through thistle and devil’s club… and it was far more fun than it sounds! The engagement session lets me figure out what makes my couples most comfortable and happy, how they interact, where they put their arms when they snuggle, how adventurous they like to get… and a few thorns and bugs were no match for these two. Despite wearing sandals, they gladly tiptoed to wherever I asked them to go.
We played with the shadows and the light, and we all walked away from the engagement session with even more excitement for their Okanagan wedding.
I’m so looking forward to this Kelowna wedding! Congratulations, Kayla and Kevin!!
